First Time Installation for Home Sales System 3.2 (tm)
NOTE: If you have installed the shareware version of the Home Sales System
(tm) read the README.TO file. The instructions in the README.1ST file are
for new users that have NEVER installed the Home Sales System (tm).
The Installation process for Homes Sales System (tm) takes just a simple
few steps.
1) Create a directory on your hard drive named "HSS."
MD HSS (enter)
2) Go to the new directory named HSS.
CD HSS (enter)
3) Place the Home Sales System (tm) disk in drive A: and close the door.
4) Copy the file, SALES.EXE, (on the distribution disk) in drive A: to the
new HSS directory on your hard drive.
COPY A:\SALES.EXE (enter)
5) You must UNPACK the Home Sales System (tm) from SALES.EXE. To unpack the
file (be sure you are in the new HSS directory) just type SALES. The file
will automatically unpack.
SALES (enter)
The file, SALES.EXE, holds the compressed Home Sales System (tm) files. The
file will now unpack the program to a usable form. Be sure to remove the
distribution disk from drive A: and store it properly.
6) You should be in the directory of HSS on your hard drive, now delete the
file SALES.EXE from the HSS directory.
DEL SALES.EXE (enter)
7) Now you may start the Home Sales System (tm) program.
HSS (enter)
NOTE: To insure the Shell feature will work correctly be sure that your
AUTOEXEC.BAT file includes the line SET COMSPEC=x:\COMMAND.COM. In the
example COMMAND.COM is in the C: drive and in the DOS directory.
Example: SET COMSPEC=C:\DOS\COMMAND.COM
NOTE: To insure there is enough room to run the program check your
CONFIG.SYS file. Please set the "files" to at least 25 and the "buffers" to
at least 25.
Example:
FILES=25
BUFFERS=25
